1980’S SCI-Fi

As a kid growing up in the 1980s, John Carpenter films were a common viewing on TV. The characters, soundtrack, and environments all had a huge influence on my imagination. I always loved the look of old VHS videos, so I set out to make a set of presets that are authentic to their source material as well as a few that I feel compliment the look of the film. I hope these presets help bring a sense of ’80s, VHS, and sci-fi nostalgia to your photography projects.

Please, understand that any preset should be regarded as a tool to help you find a good starting point for the look of your image. They shouldn’t be used as a one-click solution since every image has varying degrees of light, shadow, and color.

Remember to adjust your white balance, and to enable the two checkboxes in your “Lens Correction” settings of Lightroom before applying the preset to your image.
